I first came across the horror writer Thomas Emson back in 2008 or 2009 when I picked up his book Maneater about a kickass female werewolf, and his writing instantly hooked me. He has this style that’s like a movie in book form, you can really imagine the scenes playing out in your head as you read.

The Story of Florence Vaine
It has occurred to me that I am writing this blog for nobody at all, and it is absolutely liberating.
Ok, so I know I’m absolutely terrible at keeping this blog updated, I am forgetful of these things. But here’s an article I wrote a while ago that you might enjoy….
I have had many incarnations of blogs in the past, all of which I gave up on. I have come to think that this was because I had been trying to be somebody I was not, trying to write about things that I thought would make me come across as intellectual or hip, both of which I am not. So this my new blog, and hopefully the last one I will ever begin, and this blog is going to be about what I really know and love – books.
